A little over eleven years ago (1995) three fresh, young automotive enthusiasts were jumping feet first into the custom car scene by starting a club among close friends named Low Life Cincy Style. At the time some of their vehicles consisted of 1989 Ford Escort, 1987 Acura Integra, and a 1985 Honda Accord. Dan, Mark and Tony quickly saw the ups and downs associated with many clubs. Their club didn't last due to some of the vehicles breaking down or falling apart.

With members and vehicles dropping, these three were looking for a new start. They began by working on a new club name. At first they planned to use Special FX. That was then shortened to Side FX. In June of '95, Side FX was born. Tony having the computer savvy skills designed their very first logo with Printshop Deluxe. He then recruited his neighbor who worked for a local sign business, Holthaus Signs to take his new creation and put into vinyl form. The '84 Plymouth Duster was the first to ever receive club logo. At first, unsure of how to make an impression on the community, the members did not attend very many car shows.

As the year passed and 1996 rolled around, they forged on by attending their first show of the year in Florence, Kentucky. In their spare time outside of checking out the various shows in the area throughout the year, members would hung out and cruise around town. In the eyes of fellow enthusiasts Side FX was low-class, and not a club to be respected. There had been several other clubs in the area around a bit longer who have already made their impression within the automotive scene. Among those club were Gone So Low and The Godfathers. Often those clubs were looked up to, but Side FX had the desire to create a very unique experience, something you would not find in other clubs.

The first major show the club attended in 1997 was Cruisefest Nationals in Dayton, Ohio. There was a newfound passion of 'showing cars' that hit every member. We began to make new friends and contacts. What we have here is much more than 'a car club'. If you were to ask each current member, they'll tell you that the experience they have is hard to explain. This family that we have here has grow in all aspects throughout the years and will continue to do so for more years to come.

It can be quite frustrating to hear rumors and/or negative comments about your club or your vehicles. Through all and all, the club stuck it out. As the 1997 season was coming to a close, it was decided amongst most members to have a major re-forming within the club, in order to create a better atmosphere for present and future members. We were out to re-evaluate what our club goals were to be, and how we were to achieve those goals. Also, in addition to this process was to remove all current members from the 'line-up', and re-build. Unfortunately, part of this process was losing some of our members. With less than half of the group remaining we went on. The last part of the re-form was to re-design the club logo and come out with a fresh look in the following year.
